The White House Initiative on Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders was established by President Obama in October 2009 to improve the quality of life and opportunities for Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders by facilitating increased access to and participation in federal programs where they remain underserved. The initiative is chaired by U.S. Dept of Education Secretary Arne Dunce and led by Executive Director Kiran Ahuja. See an infographic about The Initiatives' Objectives and Needs.
