Summer's here, and that means outdoor fun — and possible health dangers.
Some quick tips for having a disaster-free summer:

• Be aware of natural disasters that occur more frequently in the summer, such as hurricanes, wildfires and tornadoes, and be prepared for them.
• If you are going on vacation, know the risks of the area you are visiting, such as tsunamis in coastal regions, and know how and where to take shelter.
• Protect yourself from tick- and mosquito-borne illnesses. Wear insect repellent and be alert for dangers.
